Some new pages...

I decided to play "Tag" on Busy Bee and had the pleasure of scraplifting Kim Moreno's fabulous page. My "Cause & Effect" page is my take. Can't wait to see who tags my layout for the next lift!

I also am playing along with the Spring Fling tournament at Memories from Scrap. This week's challenge was to make a layout with a snowflake that we altered in some way. I chose to paint the HS ghost snowflakes with dimensional paint. I also used that paint with a mask to create the title as well. I backstitched within the masked letters too. Love how it turned out.

A new place to hang out!

Check out the cool new place I've found!

Scrapbooking Supplies

This is such a fun website. They give you Tally Points for uploading layouts, buying products, and just for breathing! What are the Tally Points for? You get to give them away to your Tallyfriends for a cool post or a layout you admire. What a fun way to share the love! Everyone I've met so far couldn't be nicer. Come check it out!

Happy Dancing!

So I took a chance and applied for the Booya Girls Design Team at Busy Bee. There was such amazing talent in all the applicants! While I didn't make the team, I was an Honorable Mention and will be their guest designer in July. Booya!

Home Sweet Home

Here is my latest page. I love this picture of the house. Just wish Mike hadn't ripped out all the shrubs in the front! The title is "Home is where you hang your Heart." I love coming home, even when it is cluttered and chaotic (which is the majority of the time, LOL). I know that there are always people there who love me, need me, and are happy to see me. I'm a lucky girl...

I've signed up to participate in a few contests - Iron Chef II at Scrappers Haven and Spring Fling at Memories from Scrap. I have to admit I'm addicted to these contests. They really push me to try new and different things. I'm sure I'll have lots of new and different projects to share in the weeks to come!

Sharing Secrets...

Here is a layout I made for a contest at Scrapfabulous. We were to share a secret of some sort. Here are some that I chose to share...

- some mornings I drive my kids to school while wearing my pajamas

-I'm an internet addict

-My house is only orderly when I'm expecting company

-I eat something chocolate every day

-I only quit smoking to be healthy. I still get cravings for cigarettes

- I let my kids sleep in my room every weekend.

Wind at my Back

So there's this song by a band named Spock's Beard, called Wind at my Back. My husband loves this song, and tells me that the lyrics really speak to him. He says that if he could write and express himself in song, that these lyrics would be just how he feels about me.
After listening to the song, I knew I had to do a page of us using this song.

My Cocoa Daisy kit arrived the other day and it all kinda clicked. As I was doing the page, I realized it would work for a challenge at Scrapfabulous too. The challenge was to use 1 flower,2 cardstock, 3 different patterned papers, 4 buttons and 5 or more words in the journaling. I love it when it all comes together like that. I made the felt heart embellie. Fun!

The lyrics go like this:
You are the wind at my back
you give me what I lack
You're the jewel in my hand
you're like rain on dry land
and my soul has been kissed
just because you exist
You're the dream that's a fact
You're the wind at my back.
Isn't this so romantic? I have the sweetest hubby ever.

Mardi Gras, anyone?

I wanted to post a few more of the creations I made for the race at Timeless Inspirations. One of the challenges was to create a themed invitation, a decoration, and a favor for a "party". I stamped the gold plate with Staz On and then I used acrylic paint, mod podge & glamour dust to paint the plain glass candle holder. The favor - the mask, was created with mulberry paper on a preformed mask. I used Junkitz flowers for the lashes, some ribbon, sequins and Fancy Pants chipboard for the flourishes above. The invitation used more flowers, some stamping and some MM stickers. This was so fun to make!

Finally getting around to updating here! These are some pages I created using the March KNK kit featuring Fancy Pants Floral Chic. Beautiful papers - you gotta check them out!

Life has been a bit crazy here, but hopefully settling down now. My youngest, Tommy spent the weekend in the hospital for dehydration after coming down with rotavirus. Nasty sickness, and my pediatrician said it is just everywhere lately, lots of sick kids.

My dad had his first chemotherapy treatment today. His spirits are good and he's feeling well, so I pray that will continue.

As always, scrapping remains my stress reliever. I could not meet the final deadline for the Race at Timeless Inspirations, but what a fabulous time I had along the way! Congratulations to the new DT there, especially my friend Dolores. WTG girl!
