Wow, where did time go?

I can't believe where the summer has gone! July started out with a trip to Brant Lake, NY. Gorgeous, relaxing, a wonderful trip filled with fishing and family fun.
Here is a picture I took one early morning while out trying to catch a big one:

Here is Jimmy posing with his cute little Cars fishing pole after having caught a big old catfish (which, we let go, by the way.) Doesn't he look proud?

After returning from vacation, life went back to usual, busy with all the kids home. I've been working a lot of hours, which is great for the wallet, but it did cut into my scrapping time. I did manage to get a few projects.
Here is another layout I made for my guest DT spot at Treasured Scrapbooking:

Go check out the fabulous kits Leslie puts together there. You won't be sorry!

Here are a few pages I made for Scrapper's Haven, using the goodies Donna sent me :

And finally, some exciting news!

Today I learned my layout was chosen as the winner for the Junkitz contest at Freckle Friends. Yippee!

Thanks Debbie & Sue!

Catching up

Great news! My dad's scans last week showed a postive response to the chemo. He still has a few more treatments before any decisions are made for what happens next.
We were all so relieved, it is hard to express.

Been busy scrapping, completing lots of projects.

Here is my first layout with the Treasured Scrapbooking July kit #2:

The assortment of papers and embellies in this kit are amazing!
As part of my guest designer gig there, I had to post a challenge.
I've challenged to find inspiration in a logo. This Coke logo's swirl and font inspired me to create this page:

Here is some work I did for Tally Scrapper with their June kit:

Here are some shots of the mini album I made for my dad using the gorgeous June We B Scrappin kit:

Speaking of We B Scrappin, we have lots of exciting things in the planning stages there. Go check it out, there will be contests and exciting guest designers coming SOON!

Happy Father's Day

Today was a good day. I finished up the mini album for my dad this morning, made potato salad and blueberry bars for the cookout, then packed up the kids and drove to my parents. The day was fun, but somewhat bittersweet. Dad is holding up well with all his chemo treatments, but he looks a little worn out from it lately. He goes for scans this coming week to see if he's responding well to the treatments, so I am a bit anxious, but I just keep thinking positive thoughts and go along.

I haven't posted any new pages for a while - I made a bunch last weekend, but then worked a lot of hours this week, so here we are.

Anyhow, here is a page I made for a challenge on Tally Scrapper - it's about a tropical drink I discovered in Hawaii:

Then this page was inspired by sketch #35 on Pencil Lines blog. I couldn't wait to play with the new Love Elsie goodies!

Speaking of Pencil Lines, I decided to give it a whirl and apply for the design team there. The sketches rock and the designers' work is always inspiring. Here is the page I created for the call:

And finally, a LO made with the June We B Scrappin kit. Gorgeous 7 Gypsies and Gin X products. I actually used this kit for my dad's mini album, which I'll be posting tomorrow.

So that's enough for tonight. I'm so tired I can hardly think straight right now!
Hope you had a good day with your families.

Thursday, June 7, 2007

This week has been busy! I've been working a bunch of hours and the kids are busy too. Jimmy had his preschool year end party today. Ryan has his kindergarten graduation tomorrow, and Brenna's dance recital is both days this weekend.
Haven't had a ton of scrapping time, but hoping to get some play time tonight. I have my June kit from We B Scrappin to design with, and let me tell you it's gorgeous!

Here is a page I made this week and it was accepted into the 3 Bugs online gallery!
Love these pix of Ryan - just being a sweet silly boy.

I decided to alter a Prima pixie tin and turned it into a magnet. This was an easy way to recycle and it looks cute on my fridge!

Finally, I was so excited to win a spot on the June DT at TallyScrapper!

This is such a fun site and I can't wait to get my kit to play with!
